Advice from someone who knows: Do not wait until the last minute to purchase an MPJE® study guide. Here is the typical scenario… Students schedule the NAPLEX® first and the MPJE® second. This is logical. It makes sense to get the larger, more difficult exam out of the way first. So, what is the problem? Well, after going through several years of pharmacy school and then the distressing experience of taking the NAPLEX®, most students are running on fumes by the time they start preparing for the MPJE®. Very few people predict how severe the post-NAPLEX® burnout will be. Most assume they will be able to find the energy and motivation to tackle the MPJE® alone. After a week or two of struggling, and within a few days of the MPJE®, they begin to feel uneasy and realize time is running out. With just a few days left, they go searching for a study guide. I even had one person contact me at home, asking me to ship a study guide overnight because he was scheduled to take the MPJE® in two days and wasn’t prepared! Good summary, some wrong info

Great review material for the NY MPJE. There are inconsistencies though. The section regarding hypodermic syringes and needles includes wrong information. As of October 9, 2013 (10 NYCRR 80.131) the NYS DOH has removed all of the controlled substance-like regulations regarding prescribing and dispensing of syringes. This affects telephone orders, faxes, transfers, and e-scripts. This relaxation of regulations allowed for the ESAP which allows pharmacies to sell up to 10 syringes/needles to a patient without a prescription. I suggest updating this as it is almost four years out of date.
Other than that one issue, a great summary of NYS pharmacy law to aid in review for the MPJE!

This book was great. I used it to pass the 2015 NY MPJE with one attempt. It helps prepare you by highlighting all of the nuisances of New York law. This book doesn't discuss every law in detail though, but it does discuss the big topics usually tested on.
Friends have used this book and have also passed the NY MPJE on their first attempt. We all used a federal law guide as a supplemental text too.

Good resource for basics of N.Y. MPJE but for federal law, you need more material than the few pages this book provides. This was not enough material for the exam.
